MILLOM April 2006 ...

At the recent competition held at Millom in Cumbria we had 2 seniors and 4 juniors enter. All fought very well and 5 medals were won.

Of the seniors came we came away with 2 Gold and of the juniors we had 2 silver and 1 bronze.

DUMFRIES Ice Bowl May 2006

This competition also had members from the Russian wrestling art of Sombo taking part.

We had members taking part in both seniors and juniors and came away with a nice collection of medals.

In the juniors we had 2 gold 3 silver and a bronze and in the seniors we had 2 silvers and trophy for 'throw of the day" a classic Tai otoshi from David Hughes our senior club coach.

SUNDERLAND June 2007

Our senior coach David Hughes gained his 3rd Dan.

Our assistant coach Mo got her brown belt and our junior Abby Cosham gained her 10th mon (green belt)

THETFORD September 2007

David Hughes (3rd Dan) won his 3 fights in his catergory to become GB Masters Champion.

CARLISLE Sept. 2007 Newaza (groundwork) competition.

David Hughes won all Dan grade fights and all open fights to gain Gold. The club also came away with a silver and bronze in the Dan and Kyu grades.

An interesting competition and the first in the area.

CARLISLE 2008 Cumbria Cup

7 teams of 5 competed in this friendly competition, unfortunately our team only had 3 players so couldn't get any further than the first round (we also had the oldest players!)
